3x, 6x or 10x Loupe with the Light Ring Accessory factory installed - Carbon Fiber & Silicone Rubber

A 6x Model 01 loupe, a 3x Model 02 loupe, or a 10x Model 03 loupe, with the v3 Light Ring accessory factory installed on it.  Matt woven carbon fiber grip, and top and bottom elements in food-grade black and transparent silicone rubber.

The Model 01 loupe and the Model 03 loupe provide 6x and 10x magnification respectively through five multi-coated optical glass elements arranged in three groups, while the Model 02 loupe provides 3x magnification through four multi-coated optical glass elements also arranged in three groups. All were designed according to the same principles as a camera lens. The surfaces of each lens have had several special coatings applied to them, which are designed to maximize contrast, color saturation and color fidelity as well as minimize flare.

As such, our 6x Model 01, for example, is capable of resolving much more detail than the eye can see (well over 30 lp/mm @ MTF 0.8, versus 5-10 lp/mm at best for the human eye), thus providing a very bright, contrasted and crystal-clear viewing field from edge to edge.

The complete absence of chromatic aberration, combined with the very tight control over geometric distortion, provide a breath-taking viewing experience which has never been achieved before in a hand-held loupe.

The v3 Light Ring, which is covered in 3K weave matte carbon fiber and comes already installed on the loupe, provides three different user-selectable light settings:

• Light mode 1: 4,000K neutral white light only (adjustable from 5% to 100% intensity).

• Light mode 2: 4,000K neutral white light (adjustable from 5% to 100% intensity) plus 365-370um UV light (always at 100% intensity).

• Light mode 3: 365-370um UV light only (adjustable from 5% to 100% intensity).

UV light intensity on our v2 and v3 Light Rings has been increased to 220% compared to out v1 Light Ring, by the doubling of the number of UV LEDs present in the ring, and a small increase in their driving current.

The v3 Light Ring contains two custom-molded single-cell Lithium Polymer (LiPo) rechargeable batteries, each connected to its own dedicated charge/discharge circuit.  These batteries are charged using one of the two supplied USB cables, which should be plugged into any USB wall charger, computer port or power bank.

Each loupe is provided with two interchangeable silicone rubber eyecups. The standard one, which gives a 40mm-wide viewing field for Model 01, a 60mm-wide field on Model 02 and a 20mm view-field on Model 03, places the eye at the optimal distance to take advantage of the best optical performance which the loupe can offer. The alternative flat eyecup places the eye closer to the loupe, thus providing a wider 50mm viewing field for Model 01, an unrivaled 70mm viewing field on Model 02 and a 25mm view-field on Model 03, at the cost of a small loss in visual acuity (which - though measurable - is not noticeable by the human eye).

Each loupe is delivered with its alternative  silicone rubber eyecup, both a short (60cm / 2ft) and a long (3m / 10ft) USB charging cable, a UV light warning label, a thank you card pointing you to the usage instructions for the light ring (Click here to access this page), a microfiber carry pouch, and a hard shell carry case. All elements are packed in an ABS waterproof case, which is enclosed in a cardboard shipping box. A second inner foam set is also included for the ABS shipping case, allowing you to transform it into a four-watch dust-proof, water-proof and crush-proof transport case.

All loupes have a diameter of 48mm and a height of 45mm.  The 6x Model 01 loupe weighs 130g, the 3x Model 02 loupe  weighs 100g, while the 10x Model 03 loupe weighs 120g.
